Day Three of 10

Day 1: Ten things you want to say to ten people right now.
Day 2: Nine things about yourself that most people don't know.
Day 3: Eight things you couldn't live without.
Day 4: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day 5: Six things you wish you could change or wish you would have never done.
Day 6: Five people who mean a lot to you.
Day 7: Four turn offs.
Day 8: Three turn ons.
Day 9: Two words that describe your life right now.
Day 10: One confession.

There are several things I feel like I couldn't possibly exist without, but here are eight.

1) The Full Armor of God - without it, I couldn't battle the world
"Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints." Ephesians 6:13-18

2) My wonderful husband, Joshua - He is one of the best things that has ever happened to me and while he doesn't make me who I am, I cannot imagine a life without him by my side.

3) My agenda, seriously. I don't know how I would  function if I didn't have somewhere to plan out my week, write down things to remember or make lists. My life HAS to be organized.

 4) My church, Webbs Chapel Baptist. I have the most amazing church family. Whether the farmers are bringing me vegetables from their gardens, the ladies are preparing meals when Josh or I are sick (or making enough hor d'oeuvres for 300 people at our wedding) or just praying for our family, they are always willing to help in any way possible.

 5) PB&J sandwiches, I couldn't have survived this pregnancy without them. When no other food appealed to me, a PB&J satisfied my hunger.

6) Rainbow Flip Flops, the most comfiest pair of flip flops of all time. I have no idea what I used to wear before I discovered them in 2001.

 7) My best friend Hope, mainly because she is my other, other half (yes, I am so awesome that I am 1.5 people not just 1). If we don't BBM at least once a day I feel incomplete. She is also one of few who tells you EXACTLY what she thinks (whether you want to hear it or not). I trust her with everything and she knows secrets from HS that even Joshua will never find out (hopefully).

8) A crock pot, in the winter it is more or less the only way Josh and I get fed. I love to throw things in the pot, turn it on, go to work and come home to a meal.

Dia Dos - Bet you didn't know...

Second day of the 10 day challenge

Day 1: Ten things you want to say to ten people right now.
Day 2: Nine things about yourself that most people don't know.
Day 3: Eight things you couldn't live without.
Day 4: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day 5: Six things you wish you could change or wish you would have never done.
Day 6: Five people who mean a lot to you.
Day 7: Four turn offs.
Day 8: Three turn ons.
Day 9: Two words that describe your life right now.
Day 10: One confession.

Coming up with 9 things that most people don't know about me is going to be pretty hard since I certainly don't mind sharing embarrassing details about myself for the sake of humor. But I'm going to try.

1) I have 8 birthmarks. And I don't mean the little dark freckles/moles people try to call birthmarks I mean little brown patches. Most people know about the giant one on my leg, the little bunny shaped one on my neck and the two small ones on my arm, but I have four others that few have seen.

see my little bunny birthmark on the left side of my neck?

2) One summer while working at the drug store, I tried to move a box fan without turning it off first and my pinky finger slipped into the cracks and got caught in the blade, breaking the end of said finger and slicing it open. I was too scared to get stitches so we just butterfly-stripped it and now I have an ugly scar and it hurts when it rains.

3) I secretly love to watch "Hannah Montana" on Disney. Even though I hate how the little teeny boppers over-act and watching Miley's mouth move when she talks makes me want to die a little, the show is pretty funny and just a feel-good kind of show to watch.
4) I still sleep with my pooh bear and blanket. It's a problem, I know.

5) I am a complete freak about organization. A lot of my closest friends know this because of how overly anal I am about details and being punctual, but not everyone knows about my obsession with my planner and BlackBerry calendar and my excessive use of lists.

6) I adore Reggaeton music. It is a mix of reggae and Puerto Rican music that my friend Cory turned me on to. I'm forever asking him to send me lists of songs to download and new artists I should check out. I especially love Tito El Bambino, Wisin y Yandel, Randy y Jowell and Don Omar. You should check out these songs: Rakata, Siente El Boom, , Te Comence a Querer, Hijo en la Disco and Hasta Abajo. It is all in Spanish (except Ja Rule's part in "Rakata"), but the beat and flow of the songs are so great it doesn't matter if you understand or not.

7) I was supposed to be left handed. I write with my right hand now, but I write like a lefty with my whole hand curled around whatever I am working on and I use my left hand for drying my hair, washing the dishes, locking my door and I wear my watch on my right wrist. Supposedly my kindergarten teacher just taught me how to write with my right instead of my left.

8) I am slightly addicted to Ebay. I browse it all the time and I have several pairs of R&R and 7FAM jeans from there as well as a whole load of Lacoste polos. I gave this secret away once in high school and a bunch of my friends jumped on the Ebay wagon too.

9) I am completely OCD when it comes to dishes. When Joshua washes them, I secretly go back and re-wash when he isn't home. I appreciate him doing it (and making him do it) but he just doesn't get them as clean as I do.

10 Day Challenge - Day One

I am copying Miss Kristen over at "All In My Twenties" and jumping on the "10 Day Challenge" bandwagon.

So, here are ten things I want to say to ten people, right now.

1) Old ladies at my church - if you rub my belly ONE MORE TIME or comment on my weight I will have to get ugly. Even if it means my mama kicking me out of the choir.

2) To my beautiful little sister Deanna, I miss you so much while you're at school and I love you more than I can say/write. The rest of the family and I are so, so proud of you and how smart you are AND how strong you stay in your faith and walk with God.

Dee

3) Dr. William Taft III (my marvelous OB-GYN) please, please, please be on call the night/day I go into labor! I don't want anyone else delivering my baby because a) you are wonderful, b) i adore that you're a strong christian man, and c) I am not fond of the doctors in your practice.

4) My crazy other-half, Joshua I truly never thought I could ever love another human being as much as I love you. You are my best friend and I cannot wait to raise our little boy with you... however if you do not learn to throw your cans in the recycling bin or put your dishes in the sink instead of leaving them on the counter/table I may have to cause you bodily harm

Joshua

5) To all of my coworkers. Ya'll are so sweet and I appreciate how you check on me and help me when needed so much. I just ask that you remember that while I am good with computers and software, it does not mean that I can drop everything I'm doing to help you every single time your computer has an issue. That is what our IT guys are for.

6) My ridiculous little brother-in-law, Jordan. I ABSOLUTELY refuse to let you take your nephew hunting. I really, really don't want him to be a fan of guns, killing things or asking us to buy him bows, arrows, bullets, camo and stuff. I don't knock the sport and I am so glad you provide us with deer meat to cook, but with my and Josh's accident pron-ness I am worried that bad, bad things would happen.

7) John-John Moody, I could not have hand-picked a better boyfriend for my little sister. You are already part of our family and even though you and Dee are still so young and have so much growing to do, I feel like you WILL be my brother-in-law some day. Just know that no matter what happens between you & her that you will always mean so much to the Harrell/Edmondson clan. Feel better soon!

JohnJohn

8)Local restaurants & gas stations, please start carrying Caffeine Free drinks (besides Sprite and such). I NEED a caf-free pepsi or mtn. dew and you constantly disappoint me.

9) Baby in My Belly - Please stop giving me heartburn. There is no sense in things like cereal and milk making my esophagus burn. I know you can't help it, but can you help a mother out a little? Thanks, love you and can't wait to meet you!

10) To my wonderful parents The Wendy & Big Mark, thank you for raising me to be independent and strong in my faith. I will never be able to thank you enough for all the things you have done for me, Deanna and Joshua, and I know you will do for your future grandkids. I love you both so much and I am so, so proud to be your daughter.

Happy Birthday to Me (and Weezy)!

Today is my birthday!

It's going to be pretty low-key since 1)I am pregnant, 2)we are completely broke and 3)we have revival at church all this week.
So we're just going out with Josh's parents and grandparents tonight. My parents had cake and ice-cream Saturday night. And of course Mema Dean will fix meal one night this week (chocolate sop, flour bread and white rice, yum).
I hope that my in-laws all went in together and got me a Kindle because I really, really need one. I guess I'll find out when I got to dinner.
My parents got me a new Herve Chapelier bag and two maternity shirts I wanted.
And my grandparents gave me some moolah.
Speaking of moolah, today is not only my birthday, but also the marvelous Lil Wayne's, who is sadly celebrating his b*day in jail. (FREE WEEZY!)

I love Lil Wayne and his music (despite how violent and dirty they are). And he is always good for a lovely quote, such as:
When asked about his addiction to "syrup", a combination of codeine syrup and juice/soda, Weezy said:
"I don't care if it's heroin in my cup, it's MY cup. F--- you"

Oh, Weezy...

Fashionable Friday: Lace and Sequins and Tweed, oh my

Good lord. Have ya'll seen the new J.Crew catalog?! I DIE for half the items in its wonderful glossy pages. But the ones that stuck out the most were the precious glitzy or textured skirts, pants and tops that NEED to be a part of my life (once I find somewhere fancy to wear them).

A huge part of me wishes I wasn't so curvy (the huge part being my butt) so I could pull off the new brocade & lace skirts as well (even though an even huger part of me knows I could never pay around $140 for a skirt I couldn't wear too many places since it would barely clear my butt).

Dolce Tweed Mini ($120) I have no idea where I would wear this, but I still want

Sequin Sonnet Mini ($398) I need to 1) rob a bank so I can buy this skirt and 2) lose about 10 lbs. off each leg before I could wear it

Paillette Mirage Tweed Mini ($248) ditto above statement

Metallic Sequin Bell Skirt ($275) At least this one has some length and room for my curves

Elena Lace Shift dress ($595) Two words, classically gorgeous!
Metallic Bouclé Moto Jacket ($895) Obviously I could never afford this jacket, but yum!

The jewelry in this catalog completely blew me away, but my favorite pieces were:

Braided crystal chain necklace ($195)

Crystal Parade Necklace ($195) in Rust
They may not be lace, sequins or tweed but I lose my mind over the new vintage cords
Stretch Vintage Trouser Cord ($79.50) PURPLE CORDUROYS!!! It doesn't get much better than that.

Sew wonderful

Apparently, the maternity world thinks that are only two sizes for pregnant women: super skinny or plus size. I am somewhere in between.
I found a great tunic-thing at Old Navy and ordered it in a large so it would be long enough to actually be a tunic, not just a shirt (maternity world also thinks that no pregnant women aren't over 5'6 - I'm 5'9).
Well.... the thing is GINORMOUS.
It is shaped like a tent, even though the website showed it having a nice nipped-in empire waist, it doesn't on me. Now, I know you want there to be room for belly growth, but I don't think my rib cage will ever expand as much as this shirt allowed.
Luckily, I have a personal tailor - my Mema Dean.
She took the waist in 2 inches on each side and pulled in the panel a little and TA-DA it fits :)
Note how it has a defined empire waist?!

Mema Dean, working her magic. (Excuse the lighting and horrible pic quality, the Deaner doesn't like overhead lights while she sews so all she had on was that little reading lamp).

Will post a picture of me in said tunic once I wear it :)

Wordless Wednesday: SUPER Hunk Edition

My last Wordless Wednesday: Hunk Edition didn't include my absolute favorite beautiful actor... mainly because I couldn't decide on ONE picture that I liked the best. But today is all about the gorgeous-ness that is Ryan Reynolds. The man shouldn't be allowed to wear a shirt.
Enjoy.

still yucky

still not feeling very well, but I have to say that the Monday night CBS shows coming back made me feel a little better last night.

My favorite show of the Monday night line-up, Big Bang Theory, has been moved to Thursday nights, but at least I will have something to kill time before Grey's comes on now :)

stuffy, sneezy, sniffly

I feel incredibly under the weather today with a very puffy face and lots of lovely sinus pressure. So, the creative juices aren't flowing. See ya'll tomorrow (hopefully).

part 2 of my confessionssss

Please imagine me singing the title like Usher :)
www.confessionsofa20something.blogspot.com

1. I have been completely milking the "I'm Pregnant" card. At the first home football game I sat the entire time and asked people to get things for me haha granted it was also VERY hot so I didn't feel really well)

2. I ate two whole shrimp tempura rolls by myself last night at the sushi bar with my daddy. Yes, that is a total of 12 pieces of sushi. True fat kid.

3. I watched "The Office" THE ENTIRE DAY on Labor Day. I left the couch only to pee and get food. I also cried when the Casino Night episode came on.

4. I let Sookie (my monster chocolate lab) destroy Josh's favorite basketball shorts because it was keeping her quiet and content while I was trying to watch the season finale of Secret Life. Then I just bought another pair and didn't tell him any different.

5. I haven't washed my hair since Tuesday night. Praise God for Shampowder & baby powder

6. I am already planning the bachelorette party for my bestie Hope, even though she doesn't get married until exactly a year from today. (I'm thinking Charlotte, eating at a nice restaurant then trying to hit every club in the Epicentre)
