This weekend I was lucky enough to experience the nasty stomach virus that's been going around Edgecombe County. Horrible, horrible stomach cramps, achy body, pounding headache, high fever and yucky thing I won't mention took over my life from Friday to Sunday afternoon.
Around 4ish Sunday I started feeling better so Josh and I went to T.Hall for supper at his grandma and granddaddy Bulluck's house like we do just about every Sunday night.
While Mrs. Ethel, Mrs.Vivian and Mr. Mike attended a church board meeting, Josh, Mr. Scott, Jordan and I were lazy and took naps.
I had already slept half the day away in a Phenergan induced fog so I was awake while Josh snored with his head on my lap, Jordan snoozed in the recliner and Mr. Scott dozed in his chair.... with the remote in his hand so I couldn't turn the channel... which was stuck on RACING.
Which brings me to my point. How do people watch racing?!!? The only thing interesting was when people wrecked. In fact, I took a little cat nap and when I woke it they were STILL DRIVING IN CIRCLES, so technically you could just watch the last twenty minutes, see who maneuvers their way into the top slots and call it a day.
Maybe it's because I don't know anything about cars or the skill it takes to be a defensive and offensive driver, but I can promise you that NASCAR will never grace our television at home... ever.

INSPIRE me
Lately, I have been trying to write down everything that inspires me, or little quotes that pop into my head to use in my book.
I have officially decided to write a book about a girl from Maryland and a boy from an area like Temperance Hall, meeting in college up north and her coming home to meet his giant Southern family on various occasions (christmas, thanksgiving, a funeral, a baby shower, and a big beach trip). It's going to be broken up by the years they're in school. The two (who are tentatively named Whitley & Cooper) meet in August of their Freshman year, break up once in their Sophomore year, get back together in their Junior year, engaged during Senior year and married afterwards.
There are all sorts of crazy things that happen while they're dating. Cooper has numerous girl cousins who all dislike any girl he dates and one girl best friend (Faith) who is a spitfire, but takes up for Whitley when necessary (which is often since Whitley was raised a snooty kind of polite and coldness where the T.Hall family was raised to be open, loud, and charming).
I had a dream about the best friend character a few nights ago and in the dream she was mad at Whitley for hurting Cooper. Faith said, "Don't think that just because I say "yes ma'am" and smile real sweet that I won't hurt you."
Faith's boyfriend is shy and is also good friends with Cooper (they all grew up together).
Whitley eventually learns a lot about family and loss from her time with Cooper's family and I am so excited to write about it.
I think the book will be finished one day and hopefully MY T.Hall family will like it and not take offense, nor will any of my friends who have characters in the book *cough* Hope *cough*.

Sookie's latest adventures

Our baby girl is getting so ginormous. This is her new favorite sleeping position, a slight improvement over laying smack dab in the middle of Josh and me.
Her latest catastrophe involved two very small pairs of underwear.
On Thursday night as I was just drifting off into my dreamland (usually starring crazy, weird situations and colors that have yet to be invented), Josh flew out of the bed and started chasing a barking Sookie around our bedroom. All I could see of Sookie was a red blur with a tiny speck of turquoise that quickly disappeared. As I sat up in the bed to figure out what was going on I saw Josh plunging his fingers down Sookie's throat.
Apparently, Sookie had swallowed a pair of turquoise panties.
I quickly googled "dogs and underwear" (word to the wise: there are lots of filthy things involving those three words on the internet) and discovered that we should just wait to see if Sookie pooped them out and if she starting puking to visit the vets office.
Wellllll, I came home Friday after work to find Josh shoveling poop. He brought the shovel over to graciously show me the poop containing my underwear, but IT WASN'T THE TURQUOISE PAIR. It was entirely different pair of underwear that she must have swallowed another time. Which means we are STILL on poop watch.
