i'm back and a prayer request

back from the mountains, promise to post pics (even though there aren't many since the weather was atrocious) as soon as I can get them from my daddy & mama's camera (forgot mine, oops)

little preoccupied catching up with work and worrying about my Mema Dean, requesting lots of prayers as doctors work to get her heart back into rhythm right this moment, this is the second time in less than a week she's been to the hospital with her heart in a fib (atrial fibrillation - when your heart is beating fast and irregularly) and this will be the second time she's been electrically cardioverted (shocked with those paddles you bring people back to life with...). Pray please. 

mistaken identity

This was an actual conversation Friday morning:

Mama: "did you know Josh was on the front page in The Daily Reflector?"
Me: "huh? did they print something about him being the new Planning Director all the way in Greenville?"
Mama: "nope, this is a lovely story about him and cocaine trafficking."
Me: complete silence..... "DO WHAT?!"
Mama: laughing"yeah, apparently a man named Joshua Michael Edmondson from Edgecombe County has been running some kind of drug ring off of Faith Baptist Church Road in Pinetops.."

This is obviously not my husband. But how CRAZY is it that a man with the exact same name and around our age as my husband, and from our area got arrested with like 750 grams of cocaine!?!

Mountain Bound...

Sawyer & I are mountain-bound with my family for 4 days starting tomorrow and I am so excited.

You'll notice I said "Sawyer & I" not "Josh, Sawyer and I", Mr. Planning Director has to be home for his first town council meeting, so he won't be making the trip with us sadly.

However, me and the Bug will have a great time because we are not only just going to see all the beautiful colors of fall and celebrate Big Mark turning 52, but also going to Emerald Mountain too.

What is Emerald Mountain you ask? (or probably ask, because I had certainly never heard of it until recently either) It used to be a very popular Wizard of Oz themed amusement park located in Beech Mountain, North Carolina. It closed in 1980 but in 1990 they started developing the park into a community that still incorporated parts of the original park gardens, only updated.

Now, they open once a year to the public during "Autumn at Oz" when families can come and walk the yellow-brick road, take pictures with the horse of many colors and enjoy theatrical performances.

I am hoping that 1) Sawyer tolerates the costume and 2) that there are no flying monkeys or munchkins (they totally freak me out)...
