Rock me like a hurricane..

Well, in the past week we have had an earthquake, hurricane then a tornado. I keep waiting for Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhaal to run down my street in snow suits (in case you don't get this reference, you need to watch "Day After Tomorrow").

Hurricane Irene left Edgecombe County in a mess with most of us without power so I haven't been able to post any pictures or anything else from the bachelorette party this past weekend (which was AWESOME!). So look for that tomorrow. In the mean time, check out these pictures of damage around home.

DIY Friday: How to not get anything done for several hours...

Okay, so this really isn't a crafty DIY post but I am on my way to Hopey's BACHELORETTE BASH in Charlotte so it will have to do for today!

Our students started their school year today, so I will be all around everywhere taking photos and speaking with the media. Then on top of that we hired an Interim Superintendent last night so it will be a Media Frenzy around here. Have a great day!

Pinterest has given me so, so many marvelous ideas for decorating for the fall. Joshua isn't so happy about it because I keep going to Michaels' Craft Store & the Dollar Tree to get fun things to decorate with, but he'll get over it when he sees how lovely the house looks come Sept (this is probably not true, but oh well).

I'm loving that I get to celebrate with these lovely ladies for Hopey's bachelorette party this weekend in Charlotte, SO PUMPED!

I'm loving that we got new storm doors for the house! However, it is REALLY confusing Sookie since the old doors would just open when she pushed on them so she keeps slamming into these. 

so confused.

I am loving that Sawyer Lang has started babbling and says "mamamama" which I am taking to mean "Mama" (Josh disagrees)

I am loving that next weekend is the ECU vs. USC game in Charlotte (yep, I don't think Charlotte is ready for me to be there two weekends in a row!). Can't wait to get my tailgate on!!!

I'm loving the monogrammed plaid scarf I ordered from Marley Lilly. This is going to sound ridiculous, but this is the very first thing I've gotten monogrammed with my new initials - even though we've been married over 2 years.

My baby (and when I saw baby, I mean 19 year old) sister moved into college this weekend. This makes me feel not only insanely old, but also ridiculously nostalgic.

So, I decided to flip through some old pictures of not only Dee Marie and myself, but also just random old pictures. I came to several realizations.

1) I am about twice the size I was in high school
2) I was too thin in high school
3) My hair has gone through way too many transformations
4) Some of my outfit choices were questionable to say the least.
