Nursery, chapter 1

We are starting to work on the ex-man-cave, trying to turn it into a nursery for baby.

Josh moved all of his crap prized possessions either to his office at work or over to the apartment at my Papa's house so we could start painting.

Here is what the room usually looks like:

And here it is now with two coats of Valspar's "Homespun Linen" on top and a super-gloss white on the bottom (and with the dresser put together in the middle of the room).

The reason we have two-tone walls is because we are going to attempt to do our own faux board and batten along the bottom.

Thanks to the Thrifty Decor Chick, some chair-rail and several lattice boards, that uneven white paint will look like this:

Also on the walls will be 2 lovely pirate decals and letters painted to match our crib bedding (which is a whole other story, that I'll have to tell you about when I can do so without using harsh language) spelling out his name.

decals (only ours are in dark red)

the letters (only ours don't spell Korben)
Now we just have to actually do the Board and Batten and finish putting the furniture together (and figure out how to layout the room) and we'll be almost baby-ready.... except for the whole clothes, rocking chair, supplies and such.
